WORKSHOP ON “CONSULTING SERVICE TO DEVELOP MODEL FOR DISPATCHING POWER SYSTEM AND ELECTRICITY MARKET OPERATION FOR THE PERIOD OF 2021-2030, WITH A VISION TO 2045”

     On December 14th, 2022, National Load Dispatch Centre (EVNNLDC) organized a workshop on “Consulting Service to develop model for dispatching power system and electricity market operation for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2045”. Contents in the conference were co-presented by the Joint Venture Consulting ESTA International LLC (USA) and Vietnam Power Resources Partners (Vietnam PRP Corp.), with the participation of representatives from Electrical Regulatory Authority of Vietnam (ERAV), Electrical and Renewable Energy Authority (EREA), World Bank, Vietnam Institute of Energy, Vietnam Electricity Corporation, National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), 5 EVN-owned Power Corporations, School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering under the management of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, as well as all Regional Load Dispatch Centers. The main objective of the workshop was to discuss the challenges that Vietnam’s power sector has to face over the next two decades and propose recommendations on dispatching and operating models for both the Vietnam power system and electricity market.

      With the spirit of expeditious completion, the workshop has been organized successfully, creating a multi-dimensional exchange and discussion forum for all power system administrative parties, Vietnam Electricity corporation, and all organizations involved in Vietnam power system operation. The representatives of units in charge of training and project research are the School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Hanoi University of Science and Technology, and the World Bank. At the closing speech of the Workshop, Mr. Nguyen Duc Ninh – Director of the National Load Dispatch Center – highly appreciated the valuable comments of the guests. NLDC will coordinate with the consultant firm to finalize the report of the project.
